Obama Administrations "Fog Of War" Discrepancies... OR Outright LIes???

As we’ve seen, there have been a number of conflicting and changing stories about what went down during the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound Sunday. The White House has dismissed the bungled facts as a symptom of the “fog of war.” But as Bookworm Room notes, while it looks like the SEALs did their job, the White House is botching the entire operation.
So how many different stories have there been? Bookworm counts at least 26:

1) There was a firefight.
2) There was no firefight.
3) Bin Laden was “resisting.”
4) Bin Laden wasn’t armed. (Makes the concept of “resisting” interesting.)
[4.a) And the newest one: the SEALS thought bin Laden was reaching for a weapon.]
5) He used his wife as a shield.
6) His wife was killed too.
7) He didn’t use his wife as a shield. She ran at a SEAL who shot her in the leg, but she’s fine.
8 ) Some other woman — the maid? — was used as a shield. By somebody. Downstairs.
9) That other woman — downstairs — was killed.
10) Maybe not. She was killed unless she wasn’t — and who was she, anyway?
11) Bin Laden’s son was killed.
12) Unless it was some other guy.
13) Bin Laden’s daughter saw him get killed. She’s undoubtedly traumatized, poor dear.
14) They were going to capture Bin Laden until the problem with the helicopter, which was:
A) It had mechanical trouble
B) It did a hard landing
C) It crashed
D) It clipped a wall with a tail rotor, effectively a crash

15.) They were never going to try to capture him; it was always a kill mission.
16.) No, it wasn’t.
17) The chopper blew up.
18) The SEALs blew it up.
19.) Panetta said yesterday the world needed proof and the photo would be released.
20.) Obama said today in an interview he taped with Steve Kroft for “60 Minutes” to be broadcast Sunday that it won’t be released. It’s too gruesome, would offend Muslim sensibilities (something he worries about a lot — I personally do not give a warm fart on a wet Wednesday about Muslim sensibilities), and how would Americans feel if Muslims released pictures of dead Americans?
21.) Kroft — who’s not a total idiot — pointed out that ever since “Black Hawk Down” days, Muslims have been doing precisely that, filming American bodies being dragged through the streets, filming Daniel Pearl’s head being cut off, filming any and everything.
22) Obama gets pissed at CBS, the tape gets cleaned up, that question disappears. (Inside info.)
23.) We got a “treasure trove” of stuff from hard drives, etc.
24.) There were no phone lines, and no internet access at the “mansion,” they didn’t even have TV — what “treasure trove?”
25.) There is obviously in the pictures of the place a large satellite dish. I guess they used it for making salads.
26.) And now, just today: apparently the idea was to capture him, but only if he was naked. There was a suspicion he might be wearing a suicide bomber type explosive vest, or belt. So if he’s not naked and you can’t see if he has a vest on or not – shoot him.

Since the majority of our dumb-assed politicians don't have the balls to cut spending and balance the budget and start paying down the national debt of over $14 TRILLION and rising to over $20 TRILLION under Obama... here's a way to at least balance the budget this year!

EDIT - OOPS... I obviously made a big boo-boo on my math and the figure should have been BILLION's, not TRILLION's... but still, that is a LOT of money and should still be cut from the budget. Obviously, I should have double and triple checked my math before posting this one! :-P

So... I was just watching Fox News Channel reporting about Obama naming Immelt to head a new "Advisory Board" and in their follow-up reporting, they found that the Federal Government has OVER 1,000 different advisory boards with over 74,000 members sitting on these various boards. FNC further reported that just in the year 2000, the taxpayers paid OVER $200 MILLION for theses boards and that figure grew to OVER $350 MILLION in 2010 and is expected to be OVER $400 MILLION in 2011.

So... a little math and just between 2000-2010, the taxpayers paid AROUND $3 TRILLION for these boards. Now, with the national debt being over $14 TRILLION AND GROWING BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS, if we just got rid of all these boards, we would save OVER $4 TRILLION over the next 10 years but more importantly, if we did NOT have all these political patronage boards in the first place, we would not have a national debt at all. If we wasted AROUND $3 TRILLION in the past 10 years, extrapolating that even further back, I'm pretty sure we've spent MORE THAN $14 TRILLION over the past 50-70 years... the time frame that Washington, DC and all of the crooked-assed politicians started growing by leaps and bounds and pissing away so much of the taxpayers money on bullshit and frivolous programs... including these thousands of boards.

The President should end all of these boards by executive order but since he has been creating more and more boards in the past two years, I'm sure he won't... so it's up to the Republicans and hopefully some Democrats in Congress to pass legislation and budgets that defund these boards so they'll all just go away.

And... since I'm sending this email to ALL of my politicians from Louisiana and Washington, how about Louisiana getting rid of all of their bullshit boards and committees that cost us money at the state level. We elect you politicians to do YOUR JOB... not to hire boards and committees to do your job for you. If you can't do the job, then quit and let us hire/elect someone who can do the job without stealing more of our hard earned money!!!!

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple. Pumpkin. Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or, if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Reread all tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

The elderly parking lot attendant wasn't in a good mood!

Neither was Sam Bierstock. It was around 1 a.m., and Bierstock, a Delray Beach, FL, eye doctor, business consultant, corporate speaker and musician, was bone tired after appearing at an event.

He pulled up in his car, and the parking attendant began to speak. "I took two bullets for this country and look what I'm doing," he said bitterly

At first, Bierstock didn't know what to say to the World War II veteran. But he rolled down his window and told the man, "Really, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you."

Then the old soldier began to cry.

"That really got to me," Bierstock says.

Cut to today.

Bierstock, 58, and John Melnick, 54, of Pompano Beach - a member of Bierstock's band, Dr. Sam and the Managed Care Band - have written a song inspired by that old soldier in the airport parking lot. The mournful "Before You Go" does more than salute those who fought in WWII. It encourages people to go out of their way to thank the aging warriors before they die.

"If we had lost that particular war, our whole way of life would have been shot," says Bierstock, who plays harmonica. "The WW II soldiers are now dying at the rate of about 2,000 every day. I thought we needed to thank them."

The song is striking a chord. Within four days of Bierstock placing it on the Web, the song and accompanying photo essay have bounced around nine countries, producing tears and heartfelt thanks from veterans, their sons and daughters and grandchildren.

"It made me cry," wrote one veteran's son. Another sent an e-mail saying that only after his father consumed several glasses of wine would he discuss " the unspeakable horrors" he and other soldiers had witnessed in places such as Anzio, Iwo Jima, Bataan and Omaha Beach . "I can never thank them enough," the son wrote. "Thank you for thinking about them."

Bierstock and Melnick thought about shipping it off to a professional singer, maybe a Lee Greenwood type, but because time was running out for so many veterans, they decided it was best to release it quickly, for free, on the Web. They've sent the song to Sen. John McCain and others in Washington. They hope every veteran in America gets a chance to hear it.

I just signed the petition from the NTU directing Congress to pass legislation continuing the current tax rates (aka The President Bush Tax Cuts), otherwise a THREE TRILLION DOLLAR tax hike will take place next year... and we all know that Washington does NOT need to be spending and wasting even more money. They already get $2.4 TRILLION to spend and can't even spend that responsibly and since Obama has been in office, they have been spending over a TRILLION DOLLARS MORE than the allowed $2.4 TRILLION (meaning deficits of OVER A TRILLION dollars a year under Obama AND $1.4 TRILLION THIS YEAR... which would be comparable to a family making $100,000 a year and spending over $140,000 a year and we all know that won't work!!!!)

And yet, that is exactly what NPR, PBS and CPB do each and every day. The recent termination of Juan Williams proves that NPR is nothing more than a far-left propaganda mill. CBS, NBC, ABC & CNN show up to provide pictures of shivering grasshoppers, next to a video of an ant in his comfortable home, with a table filled with food.

America is stunned by the sharp contrast! How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer this way?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah, with the grasshopper. Everyone cries when they sing “It’s Not Easy Being Green”.

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant’s house, where the news stations film the group singing “We Shall Overcome”. Jesse then has the group pray for the grasshopper’s sake, and reminds the group to contribute to his group, so that he can “continue the fight” for grasshoppers, everywhere!

Ted Kennedy (RIP) & John Kerry exclaim, in an interview with Tom Brokaw, that the ant has gotten rich, off the back of the poor grasshopper! Both call for an immediate tax hike, to make the ant pay “his fair share”!

Finally, the EEOC drafts the “Economic Equity For Grasshoppers Act”, retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire the proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his house is confiscated by the government.

Hillary Clinton gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper, in a defamation suit against the ant. The case is tried in federal court, with a jury comprised of unemployed welfare recipients.

Surprise! The ant loses the case!

The story ends, as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food, while the government house he lives in (which happens to be the ant’s old house) crumbles around him, due to lack of maintenance!

The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found, dead, in a drug-related incident. The house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders, who terrorize this once-peaceful neighborhood.

The moral of this version? Don’t vote for Democrats or liberals.

Radio talk-show giant Rush Limbaugh blasted President Barack Obama for his flawed understanding of the economy on Tuesday, referring to Obama as an "economic ignoramus" and a "jackass."

Triggering Limbaugh's wrath on his program were Obama's remarks to his economic recovery board on Monday.

At that meeting, top economic experts Martin Feldstein and William Donaldson advised the president to encourage businesses to hire workers by extending the Bush tax cuts. But Obama defended his policy of allowing taxes to increase on those families earning $250,000 or more.

"I don’t know any economists," said the president, "who think we are likely to get a bump in aggregate demand from $700 billion of borrowed money going to people like those of us around the table, who, if I suspect want a flat-screen TV, can afford one right now and are going out and buying one."

Limbaugh said he found it incredible that the president believes purchases of flat-screened televisions could bring about an economic recovery. He pointed out most of those are made in China anyway.

Obama is an “idiot, where capitalism is concerned,” Limbaugh said.

During the exchange with the economists, Obama said he was not concerned that wealthy people hit by large tax increases would "take their ball and go home," rather than contribute to economic activity.

According to ABC News, Limbaugh referred to the president as "our imam-child." Limbaugh shot back, “They have already taken their trillion-dollar ball home, and they're sitting on it, you jackass!"

Limbaugh pointed out that no one was proposing additional tax cuts. Extending the Bush tax cuts for everyone, Limbaugh said, would encourage businesses to invest and create jobs “which, once upon a time, we were told, was Obama’s top priority.”

Limbaugh added of the president: "He's a jackass. He's an economic illiterate. He's an economic ignoramus.”

“And that's being charitable.”

The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of this old disease. The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim. It's pronounced "Gonna re-elect 'em," and it is a terrible obamanation.

The disease is contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior involving putting your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted it in 2008...but now most people, after having been infected for the past 1-2 years, are starting to realize how destructive this sickness is.

It's sad because Gonorrhea Lectim is easily cured with a new drug just coming on the market called Votemout. You take the first dose in 2010 and the second dose in 2012 and simply don't engage in such behavior again; otherwise, it could become permanent and eventually wipe out all life as we know it.

Several states are already on top of this, like Virginia and New Jersey, and apparently now Massachusetts, with many more seeing the writing on the wall.

Please pass this important message on to all those bright folks you really care about... and might get a little chuckle from this one. ;-)

Joke - Old Al The Rooster

Old Al

John was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.

He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.

Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. John's favorite rooster, Old Al, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed Old Al's bell hadn't rung at all!

When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.

To John's amazement, Old Al had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

John was so proud of Old Al, he entered him in the Saint Lawrence County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded Old Al the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pullet Surprise" as well.

Clearly Old Al was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.

Vote carefully this fall, the bells are not always audible.

In an editorial entitled, "How Seniors Will Pay for ObamaCare," Goodman addressed an issue conspicuously absent from the health policy dialogue: who will foot the bill for ObamaCare. As Goodman writes, Medicare Advantage plans efficiently provide high-quality care. Consider:
Medicare Advantage enrollees had 33% more doctor visits, yet 18% fewer hospital days and 10% fewer hospital admissions than conventional Medicare patients.

Medicare Advantage enrollees had 27% fewer emergency-room visits, 13% fewer avoidable admissions, and 42% readmissions.

ObamaCare Demolishes Medicare Advantage. Goodman revealed that ObamaCare's costs will fall hardest on Medicare Advantage enrollees, a group of Americans disproportionately comprised of low-income households, minorities, and seniors. According to a report published by the Administration's own Medicare Office of the Actuary, about 7.4 million Medicare Advantage enrollees will lose their Medicare Advantage coverage completely.

OK America... voting for Conservatives this November is more important than in 1994 when Newt Gingrich led the Republican Revolution and took control of the House for the first time in 50 years. That stopped HillaryCare from moving forward so we need to do the same thing to stop ObamaCare from moving forward.

I still have faith in the Courts that they will declare the mandate unconstitutional and that should make the entire ObamaCare law unconstitutional since the Dumbocrats failed to put in a severability clause in the law... which is put in nearly every law and contract so that IF a Court declares one part of the law or contract invalid, it doesn't invalidate the entire law or contract... but the Dumbocrats, in their zest to push this massive social program on America, failed to put in a simple severability clause which hopefully will be the downfall of this BIG tax and spend government program that will surely cost America far more than they project... just like every other social program has cost us 3X to 10X more than original projections.... and of course the taxes charged for Social Security are going to end up being 15X more than original projections.

All this said... God help America in November, 2010... so that we can restore our country back towards greatness once again.

President Obama removed the reference to the "Creator" from the Declaration of Independence when he quoted a portion at a meeting of the Congressional Hispanic Congress.

Obama said, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, endowed with certain inalienable rights: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

But the actual quotation is:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

The Heritage Foundation Culture Watch - Poverty Explodes: Root Cause Is the Collapse of Marriage

New data released today by the U.S. Census Bureau show the largest increase in poverty in U.S. recorded history. An additional 3.7 million Americans fell into poverty in 2009. Buried in these numbers are the children born to single mothers, who are five times more likely to live in poverty than children born to married parents. Today, over 40 percent of children are born outside wedlock, and the numbers are particularly devastating for Hispanics (51.3 percent) and African Americans (71.6 percent).

A new report and chart book by Robert Rector of The Heritage Foundation illustrates how this steady rise in out-of-wedlock childbearing is one of the major causes of child poverty in the U.S. today. The report also links this collapse in marriage to a rise in welfare spending.

Since the beginning of the War on Poverty, the U.S. has spent $15.9 trillion on means-tested welfare. And today, spending on welfare programs is 13 times greater than it was in 1964. By undermining intact families and eroding the work ethic in low-income communities, the welfare state has encouraged dependency and intergenerational poverty.

If the United States is serious about reducing poverty and reining in federal welfare spending, it must strengthen marriage. We can do this in several ways, including reducing anti-marriage penalties in current welfare programs and providing factual information about the benefits of marriage throughout low-income communities.

Once again, America's REAL Republicans and many Independents came out and voted in droves and threw out the RINO's (Republicans In Name Only) that voted with Obama (and also with President Bush and the democrat controlled Congress since 2006) on some of the wasteful big government tax and spend legislation like all of the various bailouts near the end of 2008, then Obama's TRILLION dollar spendulus package, then the multi-TRILLION dollar ObamaCare and all of the other government take-over's of various industries from the insurance and banking industry to the auto industry to Wall Street, etc... and the other legislation that Obama and his minions want to pass to crush America, like Cap & Trade, forced unionization, raising taxes, deficit spending out the wazoo and an ever rising national debt that will bankrupt our children and grand-children for decades to come.

Just to remind you, below is a list of the end of 2008 bailouts that were done while President Bush was still in office... and it has only gotten much worse since Obama took over since we all know he's a socialist and thinks the government should own everything (as long as he's the dictator-in-chief!). ;-)

I only wish we could throw Senator Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary Landrieu out of office before the end of her term!!!

Initially, Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson put a ceiling of $100 billion for investments in each company. In February, Tim Geithner raised it to $200 billion. The money was authorized by the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. $400 billion

● American International Group (A.I.G.) 2008 On four separate occasions, the government has offered aid to AIG to keep it from collapsing, rising from an initial $85 billion credit line from the Federal Reserve to a combined $180 billion effort between the Treasury ($70 billion) and Fed ($110 billion). ($40 billion of the Treasury’s commitment is also included in the TARP total.) $180 billion

● Auto Industry 2008 In late September 2008, Congress approved a more than $630 billion spending bill, which included a measure for $25 billion in loans to the auto industry. These low-interest loans are intended to aid the industry in its push to build more fuel-efficient, environmentally-friendly vehicles. The Detroit 3 -- General Motors, Ford and Chrysler -- will be the primary beneficiaries. $25 billion

● Troubled Asset Relief Program 2008 In October 2008, Congress passed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act, which authorized the Treasury Department to spend $700 billion to combat the financial crisis. Treasury has been doling out the money via an alphabet soup of different programs. Here’s our running tally of companies getting TARP funds. $700 billion

● Citigroup 2008 Citigroup received a $25 billion investment through the TARP in October and another $20 billion in November. (That $45 billion is also included in the TARP total.) Additional aid has come in the form of government guarantees to limit losses from a $301 billion pool of toxic assets. In addition to the Treasury's $5 billion commitment, the FDIC has committed $10 billion and the Federal Reserve up to about $220 billion. $280 billion

● Bank of America 2009 Bank of America has received $45 billion through the TARP, which includes $10 billion originally meant for Merrill Lynch. (That $45 billion is also included in the TARP total.) No, Michele Obama does not get paid to serve as the First Lady and she doesn't perform any official duties. But this hasn't deterred her from hiring an unprecedented number of staffers to cater to her every whim and to satisfy her every request in the midst of the Great Recession. Just think Mary Lincoln was taken to task for purchasing china for the White House during the Civil War. And Mamie Eisenhower had to shell out the salary for her personal secretary.

How things have changed! SAVE THE LIGHT BULB!!!

I was just reading this RedState.com news item, http://www.redstate.com/erick/2010/09/04/save-the-light-bulb/, and I have to agree that one of the first things the Republicans should do, when they take over Congress in November, is SAVE THE LIGHT BULB!!!

AND THEN CUT THEIR OWN SPENDING DRASTICALLY AND CUT TAXES EVEN MORE DRASTICALLY... but I've already covered that in many other blogs... now back to SAVE THE LIGHT BULB!!!

Did you know that the Democrats have outlawed the incandescent light bulb starting in 2014? I realize it has been reported before, like in this USAToday.com article back in 2007 after the Democrats passed this NUTTY legislation, http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/energy/environment/2007-12-16-light-bulbs_N.htm, and I know that Glenn Beck has done at least one story about the CFL's (Compact Fluorescent Light bulb) on his Fox News Channel TV show but I'm not sure that it completely sunk in that in only two-plus years, the incandescent light bulb will be outlawed.

Does this mean that the OLD Centennial Light bulb, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centennial_Light, that has been burning for over 109 years will have to be turned off and destroyed?

Does this make Thomas Edison an outlaw for having invented* the incandescent light bulb? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incandescent_light_bulb

WHY WE NEED TO LET STATES GO BROKE

Federal Band-Aids won't cover the fiscal problems of such states as New York, California, Michigan and Connecticut forever. State bankruptcy and fundamental restructuring of state and local finance -- and labor relations -- is at hand.

Take Connecticut. In the current fiscal year, $2 billion in federal subsidies have helped tide it over the recession -- a hefty share of its $15 billion budget. But these infusions are one-shot grants, renewed only if Congress acts affirmatively to do so. Other states depend on similar manifestations of federal largess.

In Washington, the House is set to pass a $26 billion aid package this week -- fresh federal aid amounting to about 2 percent of state and local spending. But if the Republicans win control of Congress this fall, it is hard to see any legislative willingness to renew these subsidies.

Instead, GOP lawmakers will point to the examples of New Jersey, Virginia and Indiana -- where conservative governors have slashed spending to avoid tax hikes. In Virginia, Gov. Bob McDonnell has reduced spending to pre-2006 levels.

If Congress fails to renew its subsidies, the more profligate states will face cash shortfalls in the current fiscal year. They'll threaten school closures, prison releases and all manner of mayhem if their subsidies aren't renewed. But the Republicans in Washington are likely to refuse -- asking why the responsible states should bail out the spendthrifts in Albany, Sacramento, Lansing and Hartford.

At that point, the bond markets will start eyeing state (and local) balance sheets more critically -- demanding higher rates or even refusing to lend. California won't be the only one trying to get by on IOUs.

But beyond this tale of woe lies a golden opportunity to reform state governments and redress the imbalance of power between elected officials and public-employee unions.

Absent endless federal subsidies, states will simply no longer be able to afford to give the unions everything that they want. And governors -- many of them newly elected Republicans -- will realize that they can't even afford to honor agreements their big-spending predecessors OK'd.

The GOP Congress should then amend the federal bankruptcy law to provide for a way -- now absent -- for states to declare bankruptcy. (Municipalities can do so under current law, but states have no such relief.)

Here's the key: The reforms must require that states abrogate their public-employee union agreements in the bankruptcy process, just as private corporations like Delta and Chrysler have done. The wage hikes, the work rules, the pension plans all go out the window.

Few states will have the starch to cut benefits for those now receiving them. But most will cut pensions for current workers and all will slice them for future employees. Even the threat will be a powerful bargaining tool.

And beyond the fiscal adjustments, the power of the municipal- and public-employee unions will be broken.

Voters throughout America will loudly applaud if Congress tells the profligate states, "Work it out on your own. Don't look to us for a bailout."

President Obama could veto the bankruptcy reforms -- but a Republican Congress need do nothing to assist states in their plight until he relents. All of the political and financial leverage will be on Congress' side.

The result could be the greatest revolution in state and local governance since public-employee unions came on the scene. The public and the voters would get their local governments back, and the grip of public unions will be weakened. It would be the state and local equivalent of President Ronald Reagan's tough stand against the air-traffic controllers' strike.

Politically, the unions that fund and fuel the Democratic Party would be emasculated, dramatically shifting the national balance of power.

Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's prediction about socialism will have come true for America's states: "Sooner or later, they run out of other peoples' money."

A CONTRACT WITH AMERICA FOR 2010

My observations from the campaign trail are that this year's elections will be a total and complete disaster for the Democratic Party. In fact, it will amount to the obliteration of an entire generation of Democratic officeholders. It will become very rare to find a youngish baby boomer white Democrat in elective office in the United States. I believe that almost half of the white Democratic congressmen who are seeking reelection will lose!

A wipeout of this magnitude cannot be explained, alone, by Obama's ratings or his policies. He has fallen sharply since he took office, but even ratings in the 40s do not explain this type of result. It is increasingly obvious that Congress has earned much of this disaster by itself, quite unrelated to Obama. The vision of the deal-making that accompanied healthcare was too disgusting for the average American to stomach. And now the failure of the Congress to expel Reps. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) and Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) underscores its inability to police itself.

RED SKY IN THE MORNING: CIC agents thought they were communist spies. The Philippine constabulary just wanted them dead. Two men made it out alive - one didn't. But Republicans need to remember that when they lost the House in 2006, about 5 percent of their incumbents were under indictment, convicted or in prison, or resigned. Washington has always been the crime capital of America, but the House of Representatives was its highest crime-rate neighborhood!

Republicans should embrace specific ethical reforms, which they should showcase in their campaign advertising in 2010. These positive ads will do as much as any good negative to underscore the difference between a Republican challenger and a Democratic incumbent.

The reforms should include:

• The establishment of an office of special prosecutor for Congress, with its head appointed by the chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court for a fixed term. The office should have subpoena power, a well-funded staff and the right to convene grand juries and issue indictments. Self-policing by ethics committees obviously does not work.

• All earmarking should be banned. Congress cannot be trusted with this power.

• A ban on spouses of members of Congress serving on boards or accepting employment by any company or organization that receives federal funds. In cases like Mrs. Chris Dodd and Mrs. Evan Bayh, corporate board employment was a way for special interests to influence their husbands and pad the family checkbook.

• A ban on families of members of Congress serving as lobbyists.

• No free travel, whether sponsored by foundations or lobbyists. Only government trips on official business -- real business -- should be allowed.

• Full disclosure of the precise amounts of members' net worth, debts, investments and holdings, including home mortgages.

• Full publication, online, of all committee votes.

• No student loan repayments for congressional staffers.

• A five-year ban on lobbying for members of Congress or their staffs after leaving office. The ban should also apply to employment by a company that performs lobbying services.

• If a senator or congressman is absent more than 10 percent of the time for reasons other than illness -- including running for president -- his pay should be docked proportionately.

• Term limits for congressional staffers. No staff member of Congress should be permitted to serve in a job that pays above $100,000 a year for more than eight years. If we can't get term limits for Congress, let's at least clean out the professional staffers!

A smart candidate in 2010 will take elements of these proposals -- particularly the special prosecutor -- and put them in his or her campaign ads. Cashing in on Obama's unpopularity and his failed agenda is only half the battle. Capitalizing on the dismal state of congressional ethics is the other part!

Obama admin gives illegal aliens backdoor amnesty

The so-called backdoor amnesty for illegal aliens is no longer merely another bad idea from the Obama administration. According to the Houston Chronicle, the Department of Homeland Security is trying to dismiss thousands of deportation cases against “suspected illegal immigrants.”

The Chronicle reports the Obama amnesty effort began “about a month ago” in Houston, where the Department of Homeland Security now has five attorneys working full-time on this backdoor amnesty for illegal aliens. The amnesty program is expected to be rolled out nationwide soon.

Senator John Cornyn blasted the Obama amnesty:

This situation is just another side effect of President Obama’s failure to deliver on his campaign promise to make immigration reform a priority in his first year. Until he does, state and local authorities are left with no choice but to pick up the slack for prosecuting and detaining criminal aliens.

Earlier this year, President Obama affirmed his support for the Schumer/Graham immigration legislation outline.

Obama ran for president promising secure borders, increased number of legal immigrants, to remove incentives for illegal immigration, and to allow undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens.

President Obama promised to make immigration reform a top priority of the first year of his presidency. When Obama backed away from that promise, Politifact rated his promise stalled. (LV adds... so much for Politifact being unbiased as they claim to be... seems they're just another left leaning media outlet.)

As I have said before, Amnesty for illegal, whether it is backdoor or contained in a comprehensive reform bill, sends a simple message - get into the United States anyway you can because eventually you will be legalized. That message will be heard loud and clear just as it was with the adoption of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (”IRCA”). That “immigration reform” legalized four million illegal aliens. IRCA was a monumental failure. Twenty-odd years later there millions of new illegal aliens to legalize.

As the headlines remind us daily, the Obama Administration is quickly moving towards its halfway mark. Thus, it’s now time to subject the White House to a midterm examination. Here are 20 questions for the panjandrums of Pennsylvania Avenue:

1. The stimulus program was sold to the American people partially on the promise that it would keep the national unemployment rate below 8%. Yet in each of the 17 months since the bill was passed, unemployment has been over 8%. If such basic empirical claims are repeatedly disproved, how can they provide a basis for national economic policy?

2. At $877 billion, the stimulus was the largest spending bill in U.S. history. The administration claims that the package was a success because every dollar the federal government pumps into the economy generates more than a dollar of economic activity. If that is true, why place any limit on government spending? Why not appropriate 50% of GDP if the net result is always a return greater than 100%?

3. The administration claims that (A) the stimulus was a success and (B) more stimulus is required. How are these two propositions reconcilable?

4. Prior to becoming the chair of President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisors, Christina Romer wrote in a scholarly paper that a tax increase of 1% of GDP would reduce overall GDP by 3%. With President Obama seemingly prepared to let at least some of the Bush tax cuts expire – and to entertain the notion of a national value-added tax – is it Romer’s scholarly credentials or Obama’s understanding of economics that is deficient?

5. Attorney General Eric Holder has pointedly refused to cite radical Islam as the proximate cause for terrorism aimed at the United States. What does he believe Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan meant when he shouted “Allahu Akbar” (“Allah is the greatest”) as he killed or wounded 43 at the Texas military installation?

6. During his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech in Oslo, President Obama said, “we do not have to think that human nature is perfect for us to still believe that the human condition can be perfected.” What meaning does a phrase like “human nature” have if it refers to a condition that can be transcended?

7. During the 2009 uprising against the Iranian government, the president refused to even rhetorically intervene, lest the United States be seen as “meddling.” Today, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is still the President of Iran and the country is closer than ever before to a nuclear weapon. What worse scenario did the president’s forbearance prevent?

8. At an April 28 speech in Quincy, Illinois, President Obama said, “I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money." What is the maximum amount of money an American citizen should be allowed to earn?

9. In a May discussion about human rights violations, Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner reportedly used Arizona’s new immigration law to illustrate to Chinese officials that the U.S. is also derelict in its protection of individual freedoms. Which provision of the law does he believe most closely approximates the murder of 3,000 protesters in Tiananmen Square?

10. President Obama repeatedly promoted his plans for health care reform by promising that Americans who liked their health insurance could keep it. Since 62% of Americans receive their health care coverage through an employer – meaning it is the employer who will decide the relative merits of ObamaCare’s costs and benefits – how can this promise be effectuated?

11. During his Oval Office address on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Obama said of the Minerals Management Service, ““Over the last decade, this agency has become emblematic of a failed philosophy that views all regulation with hostility - a philosophy that says corporations should be allowed to play by their own rules and police themselves.” Which public officials have voiced support for this philosophy?

12. Amidst the fractious disunity of the President’s team in Afghanistan, he has replaced General Stanley McChrystal with General David Petraeus – a man whose view of war policy is little different from McChrystal’s. How does the president propose to achieve the “unity of effort” he has spoken of while keeping in place a heterogeneous group of principals?

13. If programs like “Cash for Clunkers” and the home buyers tax credit provided durable economic growth for the automobile and housing industries, why weren’t they made permanent?

14. The expansion of entitlements and spending that the Obama Administration is pursuing in the United States closely mirrors the policies of social democracies of Europe. Which European nations does the president believe boast superior economic performance when compared to the United States?

15. Obama agreed to remove missile defense from Poland and the Czech Republic to soothe Russian anxieties. Why would a peaceful nation fear a purely defensive weapons system?

I've been computer literate for more than a decade and have been helping friends and relatives and helping in online forums and Yahoo Groups for the past decade but I've never really done this as a business before but I'm suffering from an injury right now so I can't do my normal work so I thought I'd give this a try and see if I can help people and help myself at the same time. I've been doing it for free for so long, I don't know how much to charge so my rates will probably be low while I'm getting started building this new small business.

The most important chart on the Obama budget?

Oh yes…there are many things worth pointing out in this chart showing the deficit to GDP of the Bush and Obama administrations, based on numbers from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

For example, the worst year before the crash of the Bush administration was 3.5% deficit to GDP. The best year of the Obama administration over two terms would be 4.1%. But that’s NOT the most important thing.

The Bush administration averaged debt that was less than the historical average of past presidents for his entire two terms, only rising above that in the crash year of 2009, (when he obviously was not in office anymore, but was still largely responsible for the budget.) But that’s NOT the most important thing either.

In 2009, the projected Bush budget deficit was 8.3% of GDP, by the time Obama was done with it–it had skyrocketed even further—to 9.9%. But that’s NOT the most important thing either.

Even when you include the entire crash year of 2009, Bush still averaged only a 2.7% debt to GDP ratio—the historical average is 2.6%. Throw in the fact that he had 9-11, corporate scandals that started long before he was in office, and the great recession—that’s pretty amazing. Even as a partial Bush apologist, that surprised me. But that’s NOT the most important thing either.

The average deficit of the Bush years was 2.7%, the average of the theoretical deficit of two terms of Obama is 6.4%. But, that’s not the most important thing either.

What is? The years 2014-2020. Let’s say you blame the entire crash on Bush, and give Obama 6 full years to make up for it. If everything goes according to plan, Obama’s deficit falls to 4.1% of GDP in 2014. Yes, that’s still worse than any full Bush year, and 58% worse than the historical average—but the most vital thing is what happens NEXT. Even after he magically “steadies the economic ship”—the deficit is projected to GET WORSE EVERY YEAR UNTIL 2020, which is when estimates stop.

Even using rosy government estimates—there is no balanced budget under President Obama. There is no year that beats Bush’s worst full year. There is no year that approaches the historical average of past presidents. And, even after the crash passes, Obama continues to make things worse, and worse, and worse.

For once I agree with Obama. He is “bending the curve.” Perhaps we should focus on what way it’s being bent.

One very important thing is missing from the graph. Senator Barack Obama and the Dems controlled the Senate and the House after the 2006 election. Congress controls the deficit, not the President, except for vetoes. If you consider that, the deficits in the last 4 years up to 2006 were decreasing. Once the Dems took over, the curve bends up dramatically.

For all of you aspiring graph-geeks out there, remove the financial crisis by drawing a line from 2007 to 2014 and see the frightening yet consistent rise…

Whereas the U.S. is facing one of the worst recessions since the Great Depression;

Whereas consumer spending and economic activity has contracted causing the downturn and high unemployment;

He motioned for his nurse to come near. Yes, Father?" said the nurse.

"I would really like to see President Obama and Speaker Pelosi before I die", whispered the priest. "I'll see what I can do, Father", replied the nurse. The nurse sent the request to The President and Congress and waited for a response.

Soon the word arrived; President Obama and Nancy Pelosi would be delighted to visit the priest. As they went to the hospital, Obama commented to Pelosi, "I don't know why the old priest wants to see us, but it will certainly help our images and might even get me re-elected. After all, I'M IN IT TO WIN".

Pelosi agreed that it was a good thing. When they arrived at the priest's room, the priest took Obama's hand in his right hand and Pelosi's hand in his left hand.

There was silence and a look of serenity on the old priest's face.

Finally President Obama spoke. "Father, of all the people you could have chosen, why did you choose us to be with you as you near the end?"

The old priest slowly replied, "I have always tried to pattern my life after our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." "Amen", said Obama. "Amen" said Pelosi.

The old priest continued, "Jesus died between two lying thieves; I would like to do the same."

CCleaner - How I Use It To Manage My Cookies And Clean Some Crap Off My Computer

When you first download CCleaner from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner, in the default download mode, it will clean a LOT more than some folks might want. The things it cleans may not cause folks any problems but could cause inconveniences if folks relied on the things that CCleaner cleaned in the dafult mode.

Here's how I have MY CCleaner set up. You can follow the way I do it or use something more or less than what I am doing. Just make sure you understand how cleaning that particular item will affect your computer and web browsing.

This next image shows how I just ran the Analyze button but haven't actually cleaned anything yet. You can click on any of the items to see more details.

Obama's Deepwater Drilling Moratorium Is Also Being Used Against Shallow Water Drilling As Well!!! The Graph Says It All!!!

OCS means Outer Continental Shelf but the above graph is ONLY for projects in waters less than 500 feet deep. Obama's MMS has only approved less than 5% of the APD's (Application for Permit to Drill) compared to the same time period in 2009.... even in the shallower waters less than 500 feet deep. There is a complete moratorium against ALL deep water drilling... except for the two relief wells being drilled by BP to take pressure off of the Macanado well that caused the "BP Oil Spill".

Based on this next article, that I just read, I thought I'd do my own list, since the article was simply TOO nice! I've added my commentary at the end of each of their 10 reasons.

When your friends can't explain why they voted for Democrats, give them this list. They can then pick a reason.

10. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

LV: Actually, the taxes are much higher than 15%. Depending on which State and City you live in, the total taxes per gallon can run as low as 60 cents a gallon to as high as just under a DOLLAR a gallon... meaning a gallon of gas that costs $2.40 a gallon at the pump, with 60 cents in taxes, would cost only $1.80 a gallon without the taxes, so the 60 cents of taxes is a 30% tax rate on that gallon. That same gallon of gas in a city/state with a dollar a gallon of taxes would have a 50% tax rate. These already ridiculously high taxes may change upward soon with a new round of tax increases by cities, states and Washington, D.C., because instead of cutting the size of government to be in line with the shrinking economy, goverments continue to grow by leaps and bounds. Right now, just the federal tax is 18.7 cents per gallon, not counting the taxes they charge on the oil as it's extracted from the wells.... which runs as high as 18% the last I checked so it's taxes on top of taxes... whereas the so-called BIG oil companies are making around 4 cents per gallon profit and then they have to pay income taxes on that amount. When gas was $1.25 a gallon, not that long ago, the effective tax rate would have been enarly 100% since without the 60 cents in taxes, the gas would have been 65 cents a gallon.

9. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

LV: If folks really believe that after all the news stories that have been done showing how often and how much government wastes their money, then these folks should be locked up in an asylum as they have completely lost their minds.

8. I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

LV: Political Correction and the LSM have done almost as much to harm Freedom Of Speech than ALL of the communist, fascist or socialist dictators combined. OK.. I know that's not really true but at least when folks were being muted by a dictator, they knew who the enemy was and it was uaually only the government... but with political correctness brain-washing so many college students, the media and others, the enemy isn't as easily defined or identified.

7. I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

LV: Actually, the inner cities, which are most likely to vote democrat see and live in many crime infested neighborhoods and have to cower in fear in their homes to avoid being in contact with the criminals that own their streets. They don't trust the police to protect them so they just live like prisoners in their own homes. As far as being irresponsible, well that happens to them because they rely on the government too much for running their lives... the same government that is miserably failing them at every step... instead of taking responsibility for their own lives.

6. I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

LV: I've talked many times, about how meteoroligists can't predict tomorrows weather in a specific city or the path of a hurricane in a specific region... and yet we are supposed to believe they have a clue about what is going to happen to the world's climate over the next 10 or 20 years. The Climate-Gate email scandals have PROVEN that global warming or climate change or whatever their name-du-jour is... IS PURE BULLSHIT!!!

5. I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies through abortion so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

Now, you know that when the LSM starts getting in on reporting Government Waste during the Obama outrageously-wasteful spending regime, things are getting bad for Obama.

Of course, they're reporting on waste of only $1.7 MILLION when there's actually BILLIONS, HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS AND POSSIBLY TRILLIONS of dollars of government waste that could be reported... since pretty much, nearly ALL of Washington, D.C. is a COMPLETE WASTE OF TAXPAYER'S MONEY!!!

Disability Payments: The Latest Example of Government Waste?

Government Accountability Office Cites Fraudulent Claims that Cost Social Security $1.7 Million

Around 1,500 federal employees may have improperly received Social Security benefits, according to a new report from a government watchdog obtained by ABC News.

The Social Security Administration is supposed to provide for those who cannot provide for themselves. It is supposed to deliver benefits to people with disabilities who are unable to work. However, at the request of Senators Tom Carper, D-Delaware, John McCain, R-Arizona, and Tom Coburn, R-Oklahoma, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) investigated to see if the SSA was doing its job effectively. In its latest report, the GAO highlights 20 cases in which federal workers either fraudulently claimed and received disability payments or notified the Administration they were back to work but continued to receive benefits.

One beneficiary was a Transportation Security Administration screener who worked in California. In 1995, she was approved for disability payments for mood and anxiety disorders. Fast-forward eight years to when she began full-time employment as a screener, but failed to report the disqualifying change in employment status to Social Security. According to the report, SSA requested a Work Activity Report in 2005 and got no response, but continued to make payments. She continued receiving payments to the tune of $108,000 over 19 years and currently lives in a house that is listed for sale at about $1.8 million. The GAO provides undercover footage with its report that highlights workers who fraudulently claimed disability benefits. All of them failed to notify the SSA they had returned to work, a requirement if they receive Disability Insurance.

In one such case, a postal worker who receives $23,000 in disability benefits for mood disorders is shown carrying her heavy mail bag and unloading it onto a table. This particular worker was awarded Disability Insurance beginning in 2006 for a brain tumor. Although she returned to work in 2007, she did not report her change in employment status to SSA. When the agency investigated and discovered the beneficiary had in fact been dishonest about her working status, she was informed she would be required to pay back $19,000 in benefits. She agreed to pay $100 a month. She admitted she will probably be dead before she pays back all she owes.

Another case involves a letter carrier who received $45,000 in disability funds before she was caught for not contacting the agency as required. She can be seen in the GAO's undercover footage delivering mail to houses on foot with no obvious immediate problem.

In all, the 1,500 federal employees cited in the report received approximately $1.7 million a month in payments -- 1,097 of them from the Disability Insurance program, 306 from the Supplemental Security Income program, and the remaining 87 from a combination of the two.

In 2008, the Disability Insurance program paid out around $104 billion in financial benefits to some 9 million beneficiaries, with the Supplemental Security Income program giving $38 billion to about 7.5 million recipients.

In response to the GAO report, the Social Security Administration's Michael Astrue told the watchdog that the agency is "concerned that your overall message is misleading and in some cases factually incorrect."

Astrue said the title of the GAO report – "Cases of Federal Employees and Transportation Drivers & Owners Who Fraudulently and/or Improperly Received SSA Disability Payments" – may be "an overstatement and raise unwarranted concerns that there is widespread fraud in this area."

Astrue said that "curbing improper payments" was the first objective in the agency's 2008-2013 Strategic Plan Goal to "preserve the public's trust in our programs."

“Washington should focus on re-igniting the unmatched power of the American entrepreneurial spirit by sweeping away government red tape, expanding markets for U.S. goods, making it easier for small businesses to obtain credit, and reducing our national debt by eliminating wasteful Washington spending.”

“We owe it to every American to rebuild our economy without doing additional harm and in a manner that expands opportunities for future generations of Americans. Job creation should be a national priority, but torrential, misdirected government spending is not the way to do it.”

Examples of wasteful projects include:

• $554,763 for the Forest Service to replace windows in a closed visitor center at Mount St. Helens

• $762,372 to create “Dance Draw” interactive dance software

• $62 million for a tunnel to nowhere in Pittsburgh, PA that even Governor, Ed Rendell called “a tragic mistake”

• $1.9 million for international ant research

• $1.8 million for a road project that is threatening a pastor’s home

Why You Should ALWAYS Do A Custom Install Of Any New Programs... So You Don't End Up With The Toolbars From HELL Browser

The top image was from someone I was helping to clean up their computer. The bottom image is from an online forum "friend" that showed me their worse case customer. Neither of these customers knew about the F11 key, which will compact all of the toolbars of a browser to give you more web page viewing real estate on your monitor so they only had an inch or two of web page viewing and had to scroll down one or a couple of lines at a time to read a website.

Now... for the way you SHOULD install a new program... to make sure you avoid this toolbar HELL situation.

After downloading many common programs, during the initial installation process, the program almost always offers you the choice of doing a custom installation or their "recommended" installation. ALWAYS choose "custom" as many programs, as part of being FREE, have various add-on's installed when installing the main program. Other companies pay to have their program added-on or piggybacked onto the main program you actually wanted. Oftentimes, these add-ons are one of the many toolbars or search bars offered by all of the legitimate BIG companies like Google, MSN/Bing, Yahoo, etc.... but many other toolbars or add-ons are from smaller and sometimes less scrupulous companies, many times being actual spyware, depending on what program you downloaded and installed.

Legitimate programs like various computer security programs (most antivirus, antimalware, antispyware), Adobe Flash, Sun Java, instant messengers, media players, etc., will offer various add-on's but give you the option to un-check them during the regular or custom installation process... and in my opinion, UNLESS you absolutely have to have the toolbar or add-on, you SHOULD UN-CHECK them since more than one toolbar and too many add-ons will start to cause problems with your browser and cause you to suffer from much slower web surfing or your browser will constantly freeze up or have other issues. They will also use up a lot of your computer's resources and/or slow down your computer.

Some of the less scrupulous or outright malicious companies will add-on a malware infested toolbar and will not even tell you they are doing it during the installation... or seriously misrepresent what it does. This is why you should ALWAYS Google or search for more information about any program you are going to install on your computer... BEFORE you install it and then find out it's a program from HELL with yet another toolbar or add-on from HELL. Malicious add-ons will hijack your browser's home page and/or add adware that will only send you to sites that are part of their advertising network. Other malicious add-ons will install trojans, viruses, spyware, adware, etc., on your computer and you will have to spend hours cleaning all the crap off of it. Until you do, your computer could become part of a bot-net where the masterminds of the malware are using your computer and surfing habits to track everything you are doing on your computer... or to send spam, send out infected emails trying to infect others, or they will go through your computer looking for banking information or other personal information and steal your identity.

I hope this helps save one or two people from the BROWSER TOOLBAR FROM HELLLLL!!!!!!

I know it's easy for lots of folks to say that gays should be able to openly serve in the military... and they can serve, but not "openly" under the "Don't ask, don't tell" (DADT) rule... BUT many of these same folks that are in favor of gays serving openly haven't put much thought into what to do about housing these openly gay men and women.

Right now, the sexes are segregated for living quarters while in boot camp, aboard ships, when serving in various bases around America and the world, etc. All men sleep in one barracks, tent, housing unit, etc... and all women sleep in separate housing. The housing usually has open showers and changing areas for lower cost. The reason for the segregation of the sexes is to limit the chances for sexual fraternization between service members since it's against the rules anyhow.

So... How would we house openly gay people? We can't knowingly put gay men in with the straight men as that would be like putting a man in the women's barracks or a woman in the man's barracks and since the gay person could/would be sexually attracted to all of the straight people in their barracks... even more so if there are multiple gay men/women in the same barracks, it would easily lead to sexual fraternization situations. We can't put all of the gay men together since they could/would be sexually attracted to each other. We can't put all of the gay women together since they could/would be sexually attracted to each other.

The only solution would be to give each gay service member their own separate living quarters with their own bed and bathroom... BUT would that be fair to all of the straight service members who would have to live in community housing (barracks, tents, etc.)???

OR... are you thinking that each service member should have their own sleeping, changing, bathing quarters?

So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair.

She said, 'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me' and she processed my Social Security application.

When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the Social Security office...

She said, 'You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability, too.'

And then the fight started...

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. My Four Part Plan To Make Abortion Rights More Fair For Both Parents: And Why Abortion And Roe v. Wade Causes So Many Societal Problems

I wrote this as a newspaper op-ed (opion-editorial) around 17 years ago, on the 20 year anniversary of Roe v. Wade (1973), and I lost the original copy so I'm having to start from scratch here. Check back for any comments and updates to this article as I'm sure I'll have other recollections in the coming days that I will have to add to this blog.

Some of the Societal Problems (SP) related to Roe v. Wade and the unfettered on-demand abortion rights granted by Roe v. Wade... and my four part Plan (P), to make abortion more *fair* for both parents, are as follows:

SP1. Increase in promiscuity because the chance of getting pregnant and having to have a baby kept many teen girls and boys from being promiscuous and having sex without the worry of getting pregnant. Nowadays, a girl can have sex with every Tom, Dick (pardon the pun) and Harry and if any birth control was used and failed, she can just get an abortion.

SP2. Ability to walk away from responsibility by both the mother and father of the unborn baby. Prior to Roe v. Wade, if a young unmarried couple found themselves pregnant, there was a high likelihood of a "shotgun wedding" where the young man and woman were forced to get married by their parents so their child would not be an illegitimate bastard child. Nowadays, either parent can choose to get an abortion and walk away from their responsibility. Other government and liberal societal standards makes it "OK" to have an illegitimate child. (See below for more clarity about "either parent can... walk away")

SP3. Loss of "Value Of Life" since the following generation of young people and adults could kill an unborn baby at will, it further desensitized these same people to the value of life since over ONE MILLION unborn babies were legally killed due to Roe v. Wade. There are other things that also desensitized this generation but things like movies, music and video games were all about *fake* deaths, whereas Roe v. Wade was about being able to legally kill a real life... OR A MILLION... without the fear of punishment.

SP4. Illigitimate Birth Rate has climbed dramatically since Roe v. Wade... which has led to a dramatic increase in crime from the children of single parent homes. 7% Illigetimate Birth Rate in the 1960's to over 40% today (and over 70% in the African American community).

I'm sure I'll add more Societal Problems as they come up but I think you get the point of the problems caused by legal and unfettered abortion. AND... now my four part Plan (P) to help curb the numbers of abortions on demand while still keeping it legal, since the Supreme Court says it is... but also to try and make things more fair for all parties:

P1. If both the mother and the father are unmarried and want to have an abortion, then both have to sign legal documents and then they can get their abortion. Same for married couples. Some thoughts are that these folks should have to attend a counseling session and/or safe-sex class to try and disaude them from having an unwanted pregnancy again. If both the mother and father are minors, then the parents or legal guardians of the minor children have to sign the legal documents on behalf of the minor children and both the children and their parents/guardians have to attend the counseling session and/or safe-sex class.

P2. If both the unmarried mother and the father want to keep the child, then both have to sign legal documents whereas they both agree to jointly pay the costs of having and raising the baby. This is pretty much already handled by law and case law for married couples. Unmarried couples will have to attend counseling and/or safe-sex and or parenting classes. If both the unmarried mother and father are minors, then the parents or legal guardians of the minor children have to sign the legal documents on behalf of their children and attend all of the classes... or they can strongly suggest that their minor children get emancipated and married... without the need for a shotgun, hopefully! ;-)

Now things get a little sticky but these next two would make things more fair for the mother and father... and most importantly, the unborn child.

P3. If the mother wants to have an abortion and the father wants to keep the child, the mother and father would have to sign legal documents stating their wishes and the mother would have the baby and sign it over to the father. This would relieve the mother from any right to visitation or support of her unwanted baby and the father would be accepting full responsibility for the baby and the cost of supporting the baby. If the mother and father are minors, then the parents/guardians would sign all legal documents on their behalf and agree to the visitation and support restrictions. Counseling and safe-sex classes for all parties involved. Parenting classes for the new parent and his/her parents/guardians.

P4. If the father wants to have an abortion and the mother wants to keep the child, the mother and father would have to sign legal documents stating their wishes and the father would sign over all of his parental rights to the baby, have to pay a proportionate amount of the cost of the pregnancy and delivery of the baby and then would no longer be financially responsible for the baby and lose all of his rights to the child. The mother would agree to pay her proportionate cost of the pregnancy and delivery of the baby then would accept full parental rights and financial responsibility for the baby. If the mother and father are minors, then the parents/guardians would sign all legal documents on their behalf and agree to the visitation and support restrictions. Counseling and safe-sex for all parties involved. Parenting classes for the new parent and his/her parents/guardians.

Some of the discussions and debates that I had after I wrote the above op-ed were as follows:

Someone asked, "What If either parent did not want to voluntarily sign the legal documents?" Family or juvenile court remedies would be available and then a Judge would order things be done or just issue a Judgment.

Someone asked, "Why shouldn't things just stay the way they are?" Well, I listed four SP's above but I think the main reason that so many fathers have chosen to walk away from the pregnant wives/girlfriends is that many of them "told the girl to get an abortion" and when she chose not to get the abortion, they felt that she then took full responsibility for the child and he could now walk away. In talking to young men about this, I've had many tell me this in so many words. They also feel that the laws are unfair to the father since it gives all of the rights and choices to the mother and then the father just has to accept her decision. If she chooses to abort, the father has no say-so. If she chooses to give the baby up for adoption, he has no say-so. If she chooses to have the baby and keep it, he has no say-so, but then he is legally responsible for supporting the child for the next 18+ years and can go to jail if he doesn't. (This is what I was talking about when I said "either parent can... walk away"... many young men walk way since they have no say-so in the matter anyhow!)

My above plan gives all concerned parties some rights and choices instead of it just being a choice made by a girl/woman without regard for how her choice might affect everyone else concerned... including the soon to be grand-parents.

Well.. I'm sure I'll think of more after I publish this and I'll come back and edit this blog and add other points as I remember them.

Yahoo Messenger Virus Becoming More Of A Problem For Unsecured Computers

In my last blog, http://lennyvasbinder.blogspot.com/2010/07/some-computer-security-programs-that-i.html, I listed some of the FREE computer security programs that I use and recommend. What I didn't post in that blog was the question that prompted my answer. Also, see that blog for any updates I have done and may do about "Some Computer Security Programs That I Use And Recommend".

Since then, more and more of my Yahoo Messenger (YM) friends have become infected and then their YM program starts sending out IM's with a malicious link and if any of their friends click on the link, they can then become infected if their computers are not properly secured.

Whoever is sending you those IM's is infected by having clicked on the link and now their YM is sending out malicious IM's to everyone on their friends list... and probably every other person out there as well.

If you've already clicked on the link, you are likely infected as well, unless you are absolutely, positively sure that your computer is super secure.

Since I do keep my computers super secure, I did test the link when I got one of those IM's from someone on my friends list and it immediately tried to start downloading a file which my security software promptly stopped and alerted me to the malicious attempted download.

If your computer security programs did not alert on the file and allowed the file to download, then you are infected.

You should update all of your computer security programs (antivirus, antispyware, antimalware, etc.), disconnect from the internet, re-boot your computer into safe mode and run scans until you have removed or quarantined all traces of the infection.

With Yahoo Messenger and EVERY other IM program that I've ever used, you will get a certain number of malicious IM's, mostly from strangers but occasionally from infected friends. If you get an IM with a link, DO NOT CLICK THE LINK without first asking your friend if they sent the link and ask them what the link is to (usually they have no clue they are infected and their YM is sending out these malicious IM's). When they say "Huh???", you know they are infected and you can forward these same instructions to them.

The prevalent use of URL shortening services is making this even more of a problem as hackers who start these virus campaigns can use a URL shortener so folks don't even know the real URL that they will be sent to. I ONLY use http://TinyURL.com and use the PREVIEW mode so when I click on a TinyURL link, it will open to a TinyURL page that shows the full sized link and then I can choose to go to that link once I know where it will be sending me.

BTW, there is no need to spend a single penny on security programs. ALL of the *good* companies make their programs available to home users at no charge, either by a fully or mostly functioning download or as an online scan.

I use and recommend:

Comodo Internet Security http://www.comodo.com/ as a FREE and fully functioning security suite that has a professional featured, award winning firewall, good antivirus with real-time and scheduled scanner and good real-time antimalware protection.

MalwareBytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/ as a backup scanner for when needed or folks that surf the net wildly, they can do weekly scans just to make sure that their main security didn't miss anything. NO SINGLE PROGRAM IS 100% EFFECTIVE.

SuperAntiSpyware http://www.superantispyware.com/ as another backup scanner for when needed as above.

a-Squared FREE http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/antimalware/ as another backup scanner for when needed as above.

SpywareBlaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html - This doesn't do any scanning or use any system resources. You simply download the updated definitions on a weekly basis and enable them to protect your computer from LOTS of malicious websites, adding them to your Hosts file, and also block LOTS of malicious drive-by software.

Spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/ - I really only use the Immunization feature on this program although it does have a scanner as well. The Immunization feature will build a nice Hosts file to supplement the one with SpywareBlaster and also further protect your Registry. I do use the scanner from time to time to look for Flash Cookies that CCleaner might miss.

I haven't used this next program but I have read lots of good reviews about Microsoft Security Essentials. I think Comodo is TEN TIMES better especially as far as the firewall since MSE only uses the standard Windows Firewall which I find to be NOT very good. You can get MSE for FREE and also use the FREE online scan from Microsoft, called Windows Live OneCare. http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm - RUN the FULL SCAN once a month and it will check your system online for virus/malware and also do a cleanup and tune-up of your computer, repair your registry and also defrag your hard drive.

Some Computer Security Programs That I Use And Recommend

So... I just replied to a "Help" request in one of the Computer Tech forums that I participate in and decided to give them a long reply with lots of details about the computer security programs that I use and recommend. This isn't everything I use since I don't want to alert the cyber-criminals about some of my other defenses but this is a good list that most beginners should be able to use and utilize.

Here is a snip of my long reply...

I use and recommend:

Comodo Internet Security http://www.Comodo.com as a FREE and fully functioning security suite that has a professional featured, award winning firewall, good antivirus with real-time and scheduled scanner and good real-time antimalware protection.

NO SINGLE PROGRAM IS 100% EFFECTIVE. While Comodo Internet Security will keep most computer users malware free, for folks that do not practice safe surfing habits, it's a VERY GOOD idea to have multiple backup programs to also scan for things that CIS might miss from time to time. Here are the other programs that I use from time to time.... or all the time for a couple of them.

Also, remember that ALL programs will report false positives from time to time so check things out before deleting files if you are not sure of what you are about to delete. For those instances, I use Virus Total http://www.VirusTotal.com which will allow you to upload the suspicious file and then scan it against ALL of the major security programs to see if more than just your scan is showing it as an infected file. If only one or two show it to be infected, it could be a false positive and you should check it out with the security program's help section, tech support, online forums, etc., to see what they say... before deleting the file. If you find it to be a false positive, make sure you report this to the security program's tech support people so they can keep others from having a problem.... otherwise, someone might delete a file that causes their computer or one of their programs to no longer work. While s-Squared is one of the best free scanners available to us, it's also the most likely to find false positives... at least that's been my experience when using a-Squared Anti-Malware.

MalwareBytes http://www.MalwareBytes.org as a backup scanner for when needed or folks that surf the net wildly, they can do weekly scans just to make sure that their main security didn't miss anything.

Why Do SOME Jails Cost So Much Taxpayer Money??? - L.A. Jail Built For $74 MILLION ONLY Houses 600 Inmates

I wrote about this 20 years ago down here in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, when the now deceased Sheriff Harry Lee spent $40 MILLION on a 400 bed facility... $100,000.00 per bed... but it seems the City Of Los Angeles has outdone Harry Lee's ridiculous spending record by spending $74 MILLION on a 600 bed facility. I'm being generous here since one short news article said it was a 500 bed facility but a much longer L.A. Times article said that the jail was composed of four pods, each capable of holding 125 inmates, which would be 600 beds.

Now, this calculates out to $123,000.00 per bed, not $123,000.00 per cell, which would be bad enough... but it's $123,000.00 per bed!!!!! Of course, if it's only 500 beds, then the cost to taxpayers would be $148,000.00 per bed!!!!!

I haven't mentioned yet, that this new $74 MILLION jail sits empty because of the City of L.A.'s other wasteful government spending that leaves it with nearly a HALF BILLION DOLLAR budget deficit so they can't afford to hire more deputies to staff the new jail. NOW THAT IS BEYOND STUPID THAT THEY ARE LETTING PRISONERS OUT OF THE OLD JAIL EVERY DAY, DUE TO SO-CALLED OVERCROWDING, WHILE A BIG NEW JAIL SITS EMPTY.

THE TAXPAYERS OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA SHOULD BE STORMING CITY HALL TO TAR AND FEATHER (OR HANG) THEIR POLITICIANS FOR THESE KINDS OF IGNORANT DECISIONS!!! OR... MAYBE THEY COULD JUST THROW ALL THEIR POLITICIANS INTO THE NEW JAIL... OR BETTER YET, THE OLD JAIL AND USE THE NEW JAIL FOR THE REST OF THE CRIMINALS! NOW THAT WOULD MAKE IT WORTH THE COST!!!!!

HEY L.A.... THIS AIN'T ROCKET SCIENCE! LET ME OFFER A SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM! Take some cops off the streets to man the new jail. For every criminal you all release, it results in dozens of new crimes every month by these released inmates. If they are locked up, they won't be committing crimes and you won't need as many cops out on the streets. The majority of crimes, especially violent crimes, are committed by criminals with long RAP sheets. Very few criminals start off burglarizing homes, robbing people, raping women, murdering people, etc. as their first crimes. They usually have a lengthy juvenile and adult arrest record long before they commit their most serious crimes.

Compare this kind of utterly ridiculous and outrageous figure of $74,000,000.00 ($74 MILLION) to house 600 inmates to what Sheriff Joe Arpaio spent for his MASSIVE Tent City jail in Maricopa County, Arizona, which cost ONLY $100,000.00 (ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS) and holds over 2,400 inmates... ONLY $41.00 per bed!!!!! Sheriff Arpaio made the decision to build this BIG Tent City after a study showed it would cost over $70 MILLION to build a *normal* jail in Maricopa County.

WHY DON'T POLITICIANS UNDERSTAND THAT THE MONEY THEY ARE SPENDING DOES NOT GROW ON TREES AND FOR EVERY DOLLAR THEY WASTE, THE TASK COULD PROBABLY HAVE BEEN DONE FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST IF THEY HAD DONE THEIR JOBS AND BEEN MORE FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE WITH THE TAXPAYER'S MONEY!!!

I welcome your comments... especially if you can give me a logical answer to the question in the title of this blog.

WalMart vs. Congress a/k/a The Morons In Washington, D. C.

So... I got this email today and after checking things out, decided it was worth of posting and it kind of fits in with the "545 PEOPLE" blog from yesterday.

The email contained the following subject lines but I decided on my own "Title" above!

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans... Democrats, Republicans, Independents... EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature, it is now official... you are ALL corrupt morons:

a. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broken.

b. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broken.

c. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broken.

d. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.

e. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broken.

f. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broken.

g. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM???

MAYBE WE OUGHT TO KICK YOUR EGG-HEAD BUDDY BUMS OUT OF OFFICE AND HIRE WALMART TO RUN THE GOVERNMENT???

WALMART SEEMS TO KNOW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS... WHY DON'T YOU GUYS JUST ADMIT IT'S WAY BEYOND YOUR PAY GRADE, AND QUIT?

Is America Better Off Today Than It Was Two Years Ago???

While reading this article, "20 Questions for the Obama Regime", the last question prompted the title to this blog. Not withstanding the other 19 very important questions, answers and FACTS in the rest of the article, lets look at a few FACTS, in my own words!

Two years ago, unemployment was under 6% and was usually between 4% and 6% during President Bush's two terms... and since Obama took office, unemployment has hovered between 9.5% and 10%, even after Obama promised us it would not go over 8% if Congress passed Obama's Spendulus package, which has mostly failed... so we're not better off with unemployment. http://www.miseryindex.us/URbyyear.asp?StartYear=2000&EndYear=2009

Two years ago, the national debt was under $10 TRILLION and since Obama took office, his deficit spending of over a TRILLION dollars and nearly TWO TRILLION DOLLARS A YEAR has raised the national debt to OVER $13 TRILLION... a 33% increase since Obama took office. (Side note: When the Democrats took over Congress in 2006, the national debt was a little over $8 TRILLION so it's up around 60% in only four years of Democrat control... with projections, if Obama and the Democrats stay in control, of OVER $20 TRILLION!!!)... so we're not better off with the deficits and national debt.

The Misery Index during eight years of President Bush averaged only 8.11% and under Obama, the Misery Index has averaged 9.88%, OVER a 20% increase. The Misery Index has been down in single digits from 1993 until Obama took office and has been in double digits the past nine months... so we're not better off with the Misery Index. http://www.miseryindex.us/indexbypresident.asp

Since 9/11, there were NO terrorist attacks on American soil but since Obama has taken over and started babying the terrorists... or rather "man caused disasters" as he and his administration started calling terrorist attacks, there have been MANY terrorist attacks on American soil, fortunately a couple of them have failed due to the DUMB-ASSED terrorists but if they had succeeded, there would have been dozens, if not hundreds of Americans killed in those failed attacks. The ones that have succeeded resulted in dozens of American deaths on American soil... so we're not better off with terrorist attacks IN America!!!

I could go on and on but I think you get the point!

AMERICA IS NOT BETTER OFF TODAY THAN WE WERE TWO YEARS AGO... THANKS OBAMA!!!!

545 People - Updated And Amended From The 1985 Version

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 307 million are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party since 2006. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 307 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ, it's because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

Not Racist, Not Violent, Just No Longer Silent!!!

I posted this back in May but I thought I'd re-post it again today!

The title line says it all for most folks. Of course, I haven't been silent for the past 30 years. I'm also not violent although, in some of my writings, I've used Rush Limbaugh's, "Illustrating absurdity by being absurd", writing style which might make me appear violent at times... like one of my recent blogs about dreaming that one of our enemies might NUKE the Washington, D.C. beltway to get rid of all the lying, thieving politicians in one fell swoop so we will be forced to start over with a wholesale change in Washington, D.C., since we voters haven't been able to effect any real change in the past 80 years since our great country started spinning out of control with BIG government and the waste that comes with it.

Not racist, not violent, just no longer silent!!!!

You know things are going well when your political opponents resort to the lowest form of Demo-goguery -- race baiting.

Barack Obama has portrayed Tea Party Patriots [1] as a gang of malcontents "waving their little teabags." Such undignified characterizations notwithstanding, Obama and his Leftist cadres are clearly concerned that an enlightened grassroots movement to restore Rule of Law will undermine their Socialist agenda.

Last week, Obama surrogates at the National Association to Agitate Colored People (NAACP) took over the effort to stir that pot. The NAACP calculus is simple: If they can coerce the Tea Party into defending itself against spurious charges of racism, they distract the movement from focusing on the abject failure of Barack Obama's policies.

NAACP president Ben Jealous warned, "The danger of the Tea Party is that people see them and think about periods in history when groups like them were much more powerful than they are now, and so a lot of what we spend energy doing is explaining to people what reality is, and that the reality is that the majority from 2008 still exists. ... What we take issue with is the Tea Party's continued tolerance for bigotry and bigoted statements. The time has come for them to accept the responsibility that comes with influence and make clear there is no place for racism and anti-Semitism, homophobia and other forms of bigotry in their movement."

Jealous and his hooligans went on to officially condemn the movement as "a threat to the pursuit of human rights, justice and equality for all" because of its "the racist elements."

Perhaps by "racist elements," Jealous was alluding to the fact that almost 25 percent of Tea Party participants are racial minorities? Of course not.

Vernon Parker, an Arizona Tea Party congressional candidate who is a black, offered this rejoinder: "The NAACP should be concerned about bringing jobs to people in depressed areas. Not the Tea Party."

South Carolina conservative congressional candidate Tim Scott, who is also a black, added, "I believe that the NAACP is making a grave mistake in stereotyping a diverse group of Americans who care deeply about their country and who contribute their time, energy and resources to make a difference."

Ward Connerly, founder of the American Civil Rights Institute, concludes, "[R]ace is the engine that drives the political Left. In the courtrooms, on college campuses, and, most especially, in our politics, race is a central theme. Where it does not naturally rise to the surface, there are those who will manufacture and amplify it. Such is the case with the claims that the 'Tea Partiers' are a bunch of racists... I am convinced beyond any doubt that all of this is part of the strategic plan being implemented by the Left in its current campaign to remake America."

Not to be outdone by the NAACP, that erstwhile protagonist of race-baiting mischief, the "Reverend" Al Sharpton, claimed, "The Tea Party, as a political philosophy, is to reverse what civil rights did and that is saying the federal government must protect people. There clearly are some racial leaves in their tea bag, but this is not just about race. It is about how you see government."

Sharpton, who has retained his official media celeb race-card status despite having fabricated the notorious Tawana Brawley rape hoax, is now treated with the same admiration as the "Reverend" Jesse Jackson, he of the Jew-baiting "Hymies" and "Hymietown" comments.

But perhaps the most influential purveyor of this sort of racism is the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who recently emerged from hiding to assert that Tea Party opposition to Obama's agenda [2] is based on their hatred for "people of color."

Why is Wright the most influential of the race hustlers? He was Obama's religious mentor [3], an inexorable and unapologetic propagator of afrocentric liberation theology and its message of black supremacist doctrine and "social gospel" Marxism.

Wright officiated at Obama's wedding, baptized his daughters and is credited by Obama for the title of his book, "The Audacity of Hope." In that book, Obama describes Wright as the "vessel carrying the story of a people into future generations and into a larger world."

What story did that "vessel" teach Obama?

In Wright's own words, "The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government gives [black people] drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strikes law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, g-d d--- America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people. G-d d--- America for treating our citizens as less than human. G-d d---- America for as long as she acts like she is god and she is supreme."

Wright calls America "the US-KKK-A" and says the nation is "controlled by and run by rich white people. Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run. We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in god. And. And-and! God! Has got! To be sick! Of this sh-t!"

In an ridiculous attempt to compare Obama to Jesus, Wright said, "Barack knows what it means to be a black man living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people."

Recall how Obama responded to video evidence [4] of his mentor's black supremacist rants: "It sounds like he was trying to be provocative. ... This is somebody who I have known for 20 years [who] led me to Christ. He is a biblical scholar. He is a well-regarded preacher and somebody who is known for talking about the social gospel. ... [Wright is] like family to me."

The racist Reverend Wright has also been a featured speaker at NAACP events, spouting the same messages as has fellow racist Islamist cleric Louis Farrakhan. So before Ben Jealous lectures Tea Party Patriots about their "continued tolerance for bigotry and bigoted statements," he ought to pay more attention to his own organization.

Of course, Leftmedia types propagate accusations of racism by Obama's race-card cutouts. According to political science professor Jim Campbell from the State University of New York, "[M]edia have been successful in [playing the race card]. You have people now talking about the tea party and others in terms of this race issue, and that in itself deflects from what the tea party people are really concerned about, which is out-of-control federal spending and excessive intrusion of government. To the extent that the press, even by suggesting that race is an issue, if it gets everybody talking about the tea party in those terms, they have been successful."

For the record, racism is thriving in some American sub-cultures and movements, but the Tea Party is not one of them.

I also make a larger point -- that the Democrat Party [5] has thoroughly institutionalized racial segregation by co-opting black America as one of its most loyal constituencies. Indeed, an unprecedented 93 percent of black voters, like so many lemmings, march in lockstep to their Democrat masters.

From the Lincoln Memorial in 1963, the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. proclaimed, "I have a dream that my children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." However, Leftists race-based policies such as "Affirmative Action" are precisely designed to judge by the color of their skin rather than the content of their character.

In 2008, Martin Luther King III declared, "race relations clearly will be advanced ... because of President-elect Obama."

Unfortunately, he was probably referring to "advancement" in the NAACP sense. And if so, he was correct.

What Percentage Of the Gulf Of Mexico Has The BP Oil Spill Contaminated?

According to the EPA's official site, http://www.epa.gov/gmpo/about/facts.html#location, which says, "... The mean (average) water depth of the Gulf is ~1,615 m and the basin contains a volume of 2,434,000 cubic kilometers of water (6.43 * 10^17 or 643 quadrillion gallons)....", or 643 followed by 15 zeros.

So the est. 90-180 million gallons (90-180 followed by 6 zeros) of oil that would have flowed into the Gulf from the BP spill, less the 25%-50% that they've skimmed/collected, means that the spill has contaminated the Gulf at around 0.000000015% to 0.00000003% of the total Gulf water volume... or as one analyst said, "One-millionth of an ounce in a bathtub full of water". Another compared it to "10 drops in an Olympic sized swimming pool." CNBC.com said, "it's like a can of beer in a domed stadium".

Yes... it's still bad and needs to be cleaned up but don't let the tree-hugging, environmentalist wackos... like Obama's supporters and many so-called reporters in the LSM (Lame Stream Media)... try to make it worse than it really is. Out of tens of thousands of wells drilled in the Gulf in the past 60 years, this is the first major accident in American waters and the last major accident in Mexican waters was over 40 years ago.

Look at my blogs about the 1979 Ixtoc spill that was around the same volume of oil as the BP spill and most folks don't even remember that spill as it cleaned up nearly 100% within a couple of years and that was without all of the technological advances and skimming capabilities that we have today.

And... besides all of man's capabilities, God knew we would cause accidents from time to time so He created oil-eating bacteria that are also attacking the oil spill on a "Natural" front.

NOTE AND CORRECTION:

When I first wrote this blog on July 14, 2010, I had the percentage range as 0.015% to 0.03% (mainly due to a math typo where my calculator wouldn't allow so many zeros and I forgot to add the extra six zeros back into the percentages), but on July 17, 2010, CNBC.com posted a slide show which included their own calculations which showed 184 million gallons as being ".00000002788%" so I'll presume, at this time, that my calculations were wrong and I had things much worse than they actually are... presuming that CNBC.com is correct. I will continue to look for other calculations to see if I was correct, CNBC.com was correct or if the figure is somewhere in the middle. I have now double checked my math and I have corrected the original post above to reflect the corrected numbers.

Dear Supporter of American Energy:

The Good News

We have some good and bad news to report. First the good news: an eminent federal judge recently rebuked the Administration and their attempt to halt all new energy development offshore. In the wake of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, President Obama put a moratorium on all deepwater energy exploration. One would think a decision of this magnitude—one bound to put tens-of-thousands of jobs at risk, further increase our use of foreign energy sources and the cost of all petroleum products and cripple an already struggling region—would have been based on sound expert advice.

Think again—it was based on politics, and politics at its worst. Last week, a federal judge in Louisiana issued a sharp rebuke of the Obama Administration and overturned this policy because the Administration failed to justify its plan.

The Bad News

Even though an offshore moratorium will destroy jobs, the Obama Administration has announced plans to reinstate the ban on new offshore energy development. And in practice, it is affecting both shallow and deepwater drilling. We all want BP to stop the oil spill and quickly clean up the Gulf, but there is no justification to essentially ban all new energy offshore.

It is also interesting to note just who is calling the shots on the spill response and cleanup. If you watch cable TV and read the newspapers, you would think Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen is the top guy on this case. And he is—to an extent. In a very short, and grossly underreported, story published recently, The Wall Street Journal reported that the George Soros (the guy who started MoveOn.Org) funded Center for American Progress is behind the Obama Administration’s energy policy and spill response. This is scary:

“If you want to see where President Barack Obama’s response to the Deepwater Horizon disaster is heading, try following the urgings of the Center for American Progress.

“The liberal think tank with close White House ties appears to have more influence on spill policy than the president’s in-house advisers…”

Why Obama’s Blanket Moratorium in the Gulf is a Mistake

With the “politics” now covered, you may find yourself saying, or hear a friend say, “We need to stop drilling until we find out what happened with the BP spill.” I can understand why you may be thinking this, but allow me to briefly explain why imposing a blanket moratorium on all drilling is a bad idea.

1. There have been over 4,000 oil and natural gas wells drilled in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. We have had one tragic accident – which is one too many. But we don’t ground all airplanes after an accident or stop all medical procedures after a patient dies on the operating table.

2. Every deepwater drilling rig was inspected following the tragic accident on April 20, 2010. Each rig operating in the deepwater passed this safety inspection.

3. A panel of experts, including engineers from the National Academy of Engineering, recommended that the President cease issuing new permits in the deepwater temporarily, not ban existing deepwater operations. As they said , "However, we do not agree with the six month blanket moratorium on floating drilling. A moratorium was added after the final review and was never agreed to by the contributors."

4. We produce 1/3 of our domestic oil from the Gulf of Mexico. Stopping new exploration will have untold effects on energy availability and prices down the road. While the Administration has stated its goal is to make energy more expensive, this plan simply stunts economic growth.

5. According to the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association, this politically motivated decision could cost up to 40,000 men and women to lose their job.

6. The U.S. stands to lose its deepwater drilling fleet to other parts of the world for much longer than the six months’ time.

There is no doubt that the Deepwater Horizon spill is a tragedy on every level. But to further hamstring an area of the country that relies on oil and gas production for political gain—as the President has done—makes absolutely zero sense . . . unless the intention is to make energy more scarce and more expensive.

As we celebrate Independence Day this weekend, it’s important to remember what the Founders fought for—freedom—freedom to control their lives instead of being controlled by an out-of-touch, out-of-control, and overbearing government. Washington, D.C. is growing out-of-touch and out-of-control and we need to fight back.
